EFFECTIVINESS OF “DASAJABROT” HERBAL MEDICINE
TO REDUCE SUGAR LEVELS FOR PEOPLE THAT HAVE
DIABETES

Abstrak:
Currently, Indonesia is in a period of increasing diseases that are widely
experienced by people in the world but will not be contagious, one of which
is diabetes (glucose). The cure is by using complementary therapy and
consuming herbal medicine made from herbs by utilizing the Effectiveness
of Herbal Medicine "DASAJABROT" This study uses the Experimental
Method to determine the effectiveness of herbal medicine "DASAJABROT"
on reducing blood sugar levels in people with diabetes with a sample of 10
people aged 40-60 years. This study was conducted for 8 days. Namely Bay
Leaves, Ginger, Brotowali which function to help reduce excess blood sugar
levels in the body. Bay leaves have the properties of improving heart health,
immunity, preventing hypertension, reducing anxiety and stress which
function to reduce the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease in
addition, ginger has the properties of facilitating the digestive system,
controlling blood pressure cholesterol, relieving nausea, reducing swelling
and inflammation, eliminating bad breath which functions to optimize the
work of insulin hormone in helping the absorption of blood sugar by fat,
muscles, and liver, and reducing HbA1c levels in patients with diabetes
mellitus Brotowali has the properties of overcoming fever, dysentery,
Brotowali stem extract can overcome skin problems has an antibacterial
effect on Staphylococcus and pseudomonas aeruginosa with an oil base
that is bactericidal active substance brotowali stem extract combination
namely at 9% v / v, to diabetes which functions to lower blood sugar levels
this effect is good for preventing diabetes mellitus. Based on the results of
the research that has been conducted, that "DASAJABROT" Herbal
Medicine is an effective solution to reducing blood sugar levels for people
with diabetes with an average of 79.6 mg / dL. The sugar levels of
respondents before being given herbal medicine averaged 291 mg / dL.
Meanwhile, after being given herbal medicine, the average blood sugar level
of respondents was 211.4 mg/dL.
