This knot was used by the U. S. Navy until 1962 to
                         tether its lighter-than-air ships (zeppelins). Lieu-
                     ZOOM  tenant Commander Charles Rosendahl, skipper                                                   BendS
                         of the zeppelin Los Angeles and American aero-
                         nautical hero, reportedly allowed only one bend
                         on his airship and on his mooring lines, the zep-
                         pelin bend, and thus its other name.

                Bring the standing part of the second line away      Bring  the  working  end  of  the  second  line
