Four-pLY Knot

             Small ornamental embellishment to an
             otherwise uninteresting length of cord.

Lanyard knots were born on sailing ships and sometimes
used as stoppers. They all share the characteristic of the
cord entering and leaving the knot on opposite ends.
Many, such as the four-ply knot, can be used to separate
beads on a necklace or add attractiveness to the pull-
strings on lights, dog leashes, and window blind cords.
