Cardiac function testing
Myocardial Infarction (MI)
❖ Myocardial Infarction (MI) is the interruption of
blood supply to part of the heart muscle
(myocardium), causing heart cells to die (necrosis).
❖ MI is most commonly due to occlusion (blockage) of
a coronary artery.

Severe chest pain radiating down the left arm
due to ischemia (a lack of blood and hence
oxygen & nutrient supply due to obstruction or
spasm of the coronary arteries) of the heart
Signs & muscle.
Symptoms Dyspnea.
Pallor.
Perspiration.
Nausea & dizziness.
