On the Road to Resilience: Norcross DDS Takes
New Initiatives to Increase Team Morale
From celebrating achievements, to giving a random act of kindness, our Norcross CSC knows
what it takes to empower a team.
Norcross is one of the busiest Centers in the state. Because of the high volume, it can
produce some challenges for the Team. As a result, Center Manager Kiamba Daniels, explains
that their team ensures they take the time to boost employee morale and create an overall
team camaraderie.
“We create a family so that we can build a support system, and function well and be
successful for our customers.” Daniels said.
One initiative at the center is called Take What You Need, Give What You Can. This
inspirational bulletin board allows the team to see quotes about love, confidence, and hope
and stay motivated throughout their workday. To pay it forward, employees can complete
the Random Acts of Kindness Challenge. This gesture allows the Team to pick a task to
inevitably become the reason why their coworker smiles.
“I absolutely love my Team,” Will Brooks said. “If you don’t understand something, they are
right there for you. It’s wonderful to work with everyone.”
Another initiative that positively impacts everyone is the Thousand-Nair Club. This title
recognizes those who have served one thousand customers for the month.
“I wanted to be able to recognize them for what they do,” Daniels said. “It makes a
difference to physically see on a board that they’ve seen a thousand people. It’s a great
accomplishment.”
Another initiative that boosts the overall outlook of Team Norcross is the training classes.
“When new hires come in, we have classes just to make sure everyone is abreast of what they
need to do,” Daniels explained.
“Kim supports us,” Copeland said. “Employees can even take the training classes again if
they just want to refresh their knowledge, and that’s encouraging for everybody.”
“I love Team Norcross,” Shadeki Rose said. “It’s a diverse group of individuals, and all of
us excel in more than one area, but most importantly, we pull together,” she continued.
“Nobody gets left behind.”
Unfortunately, another thing that has brought the Team closer has been several
emergencies at the CSC. One plate glass wall, in particular, has been destroyed numerous
times by vehicles crashing through it. Most recently, it happened while the CSC was in full
operation -- a very dangerous situation for customers and team members. Team Norcross
managed the emergency which included several injuries, oversaw the repair of the plate
glass wall and reopened to serve customers the very next day. Demonstrating once again
that they pull together to #AchieveNewHeightsin2019!
