When it comes to happiness and success in
life, emotional Intelligence is just as important
as intellectual ability! Emotional intelligence
(otherwise known as emotional quotient or EQ) is the ability to understand, use,
and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate
effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict. “Your
IQ affects only 20% of your work and professional success, but emotional intelligence
affects an 80%” Emotional intelligence can be trained/learned/improved. Those
with Increased emotional intelligence have: better family relationships better social
relations and communication; lower levels of anxiety symptoms and stress and
depression.
