DDS Manager featured on 11 Alive
News for Winter Coat Giveaway

Newnan CSC Manager, Clyde Mitchell, was featured in an 11 Alive News story along with other
East Point city officials for sponsoring a winter coat giveaway.
The commentary below was written by Mitchell, and he credited DDS for helping with this
initiative to give back to the community.
"I give all credit to DDS and Commissioner Moore for the inspiration to put this project forward
for the under-served in my East Point Community.
I truly love the way that DDS supports our employees through our coat drive. The children at
this school were very much in need of coats. I was blessed to be able to have the contacts to
raise the $6,000 in 5 days in an effort to try to have the coats delivered to the students before
they left for Christmas Holidays. Unfortunately, unforeseen challenges prevented that from
happening.
However, we were able to have the Coat Give-Away on Friday, January 17, 2020 right before the
cold weather came in on Saturday. I volunteer at Asa G. Hilliard Elementary School every Monday
and I have had a great relationship with the last 4 Fulton County Schools Superintendents as
well as the Board members. These relationships enabled the administrative process to run
smoothly.
I thank you for your leadership by encouraging Field Operations employees to volunteer in
their community. Experiencing your spirit of a servant’s heart is very uplifting and refreshing.
We are our brother’s keeper."
