Have you heard about the Meet The Truck video -- a new study aid for commercial
driver applicants? It was created by DDS to assist customers in preparing for their
commercial vehicle road skills test. Meet the Truck provides a thorough overview of
the Pre-trip Vehicle Inspection process – a common fail for many applicants. The
video is available on the DDS website at this link https://dds.georgia.gov/cdl-meet-
truck-video or search Meet The Truck in the seaerch engine!
DDS has also created a QR Code and is promoting this easy way for students to
access the video.

To help customers without English proficiency, two CSCs are
piloting new technology that puts "Translations at the palm of
your hand."

Pocketalk translation technology solves communication
problems for travelers and organizations by enabling real-time
conversations across language barriers.

At the recent DDS Board Meeting, Deputy Director Pierre Miles
demonstrated Pocketalk to DDS Board Chairman David Connell.

Currently, a Pocketalk pilot at Norcross and Marietta is proving
successful! Norcross has utilized the device 63 times for
Spanish French, Chinese and Vietnamese.
