RiderCoaches of the Georgia Motorcycle Safety Program (GMSP) gathered virtually and
in-person the weekend of February 25-26, 2023, to participate in a variety of
development opportunities. More than 90 RiderCoaches representing 15 training
providers participated in an online Professional Development Workshop held Saturday,
February 25, 2023. Curriculum for the workshop was developed and delivered by Holly
Hegyesi, GMSP State Coordinator, Michele Owen and Herb Pilcher, State-Appointed
RiderCoach Trainers (RCTs) after 12 months of observing, analyzing, coaching, and
reinforcing specifics of the curriculum sanctioned by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation
(MSF). Riding activities were conducted on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at the Falcons
Fury Harley Davidson Riding Academy in Conyers, GA. RiderCoaches worked through
select range exercises to fine-tune curriculum delivery and motorcycle skills.
Additionally, all RiderCoaches were required to ride the Motorcycle Skills Test to
demonstrate expertise on-motorcycle.
