                                                                Aloes


    Aloes are characteristic of the African
    continent, mainly grown in tropical
    and subtropical regions. Due to their
    strong architectural features, beautiful
    flowers and ease of growth they are
    popular the world over.

    All Aloes follow the Crassulacean Acid Me-
    tabolism (CAM). CAM plants can fix CO2 at
    night and photosynthesize with closed
    stomata during the day minimizing water
    loss. This, and their succulent leaves and
    stem, and the presence of a thick cuticle
    makes them well adapted to dry conditions.

    ALOE CHABAUDII - DWALA ALOE

    A. chabaudii is an evergreen stemless plant
    that produces a dense rosette of blue grey
    leaves. These aloes sucker to form dense
