The robin -king of the birds
Many years ago, all the birds of the world gathered to decide which of them
would be the king of the birds. After many days of debate, they decided that they would hold a
contest. Whichever bird could fly the highest would be the king of the birds.
On the day of the competition, all the birds took off into the air. Soon, almost all the
birds got tired. The eagle climbed higher and higher, until he was alone in the air. “Who can fly
higher than me?” he asked in pride. Then a bright voice above him called “I can, I am king!” It
was the little robin, fluttering above him. She had quietly, hidden among his feathers, and
ridden his back into the sky. Τhe tiny robin proved that size has nothing to do with cleverness.
