The hen that laid golden eggs
A man once had a hen, which laid a golden egg every day! The man went crazy with joy.
He collected the golden eggs and hid them. How much richer could he become ? "Since my hen
lays a golden egg every day, she must have a whole gold mine in her womb." he thought. And
because he was very greedy, he cut the hen’s stomach to get her gold mine at once. Inside the
hen's belly, however, he found nothing and then he regretted it bitterly, but it was too late.
This is how the greedy, who wants to earn more and more and is not happy with what
he has, always gets it.
