AESOP’S FABLES

Aesop was an ancient Greek fabulist and storyteller. The protagonists of his fables, mainly
animals such as the fox, the lion, the deer etc. can speak. With the clever personifications of
animals, many aspects of human characters are vividly presented. The fables promote love,
honesty, justice, mutual aid, gratitude, kindness, etc. Under each fable there is a lesson, which
helps positively in the cultivation and shaping of the child's character and teaches young
readers the way they should deal with life and people around them.

Many stories contained in Aesop’s fables , such as the fox and the grapes, the turtle and the
hare, the north wind and the Sun and the boy who cried "wolf", are known all over the world.
