Walking into His and Hers Lux barbershop in Boca Raton FL. I knew the customer service was top-notch. The shop has a look and a feel of being behind the scenes of a famous fashion show. The attention to detail with each customer’s cut truly showed that, in
the barber’s eyes, you weren’t just another person in a seat. I had the pleasure of having the Barber Kelsey Saunders cut my hair. There
is was no style and cut she couldn’t do. The best part was that she was honest. There’s nothing worse than trying a hairstyle that your iffy with and your barber or stylist is just a yes person to make their money. Kelsey takes her skills and knowledge to each cut. Since that first cut, she’s been, my barber. Since the issue focuses on barbers,
I thought who else but my barber to interview? So enjoy the interview with Kelsey Saunders.
Kelsey, how did you get started as a barber?
So I had originally gone to school to do women’s hair several years back, I worked for about a year
assisting in various salons and that’s when a disconnection happened. When I moved to
Florida 6 years ago, I was missing the craft, but wanted to explore barbering seeing as my
favorite things to do were short hairstyles. So, I went to barber school and realized right away
that I was way more passionate about doing short hairstyles for men and women.
