What would you say is the new trending hairstyle for 2021? I would say scissor cuts for men with a little more length are becoming more requested, along with the euro texture crops...they’ve been doing those texture crops in Europe for a while now and they’ve become increasingly more popular here In the US. And no, the mullets have not phased out yet they are still requested probably once a month.
Who is your celebrity dream cut? I would say Pink, she has amazing hair, isn’t afraid to go short, and loves to play around with color.
What genre of movie would you want to do the hairstyling for? I would probably say science fiction/fantasy...there’s a lot of room for
creativity and unique forward-thinking. I’m all about fun and playful, lots of texture, with a
pop of color. I feel most fantasy movies have dope costumes which would be a great visual to work from.
What do you like the most about being a barber? I love when a client comes in with
over-
grown hair, not
really feeling themselves...
and when they see the finished product they
just light up. They leave so much more confident when they
walked in, they feel good and it shows! That’s when I feel the best when I’m
able to create a result that produces happiness from within the client along with a cut I’m confident to show the world.
I see recently you and your team worked an event cutting hair. Tell us all about the event.
This event was called Jeep’s on the Beach-It’s an entire jeep commu- nity that comes together to show off their Jeep’s, listen to live
music, party, raise money for various organizations within the community, indulge in various food trucks, etc...my friend
was putting the event on and asked if Lux barbershop wanted to be a part of it and I immediately said
yes! We went there for an afternoon and offered haircuts for anyone that wanted one, and
the proceeds were given to first respond- ers, VA, and anyone within those
organizations suffering from mental health or substance
abuse. It was a great day to give back, be a part of the community,
and we had a blast.
