A Word from Heather
I first came to the Army as a small child with my two brothers to Sunday School with my Nana’s good friend and neighbour Mrs Woolas. Some of our older members may still remember her.
I came to Ladies Fellowship on and off for many years. I was also in guiding as well.
My friend Heather (Batty) invited me to Home League which I really enjoyed and I became their treasurer. This led me to become a Senior Soldier on my 64th birthday, 28th September 2004.
At that time I was the only person left in my family, but I now had an all new family (the Salvation Army) which I have been very happy with. I have been supported through sad times and happy times.
Through lockdown our own little family increased. My grandson Christopher and his wife Anna- Marie fostered two children Laylah and Jake. Terry and I are very proud to be foster great grandparents.
Also our other
grandson Alex got
married to Chloe
on 26th August, this
was third time
lucky as the wedding had to be cancelled twice due to Covid.
We have been supported very well through lockdown. The Lord blessed us in many ways. I have felt the Lord’s richest blessing and he was at my side always.
Psalm 23 v1-3
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
