Kinmel Bay U16s in the Semi Final of the Bute Energy Cup in Aberystwyth
The preparation the club put into organising the whole weekend was fantastic for the girls team. They arrived on the minibus and the girls went for lunch and then went to Aberystwyth FC to watch their first team and the girls got to walk out with the team before the game
it was a very exciting experience for them.
Also after the game a training session was booked on the actual pitch that the girls would be playing on in the semi-final and the girls really enjoyed it. After the training session food and drink was put on at the hotel which made for a great evening of team bonding before their big match in the morning.
Sunday was game day and at the hotel the girls were enjoying breakfast while feeling relaxed and prepared for the game ahead.
The girls went on to have a sensational 7-2 victory over a strong Talycopa side at Park Avenue, Aberystwyth. The girls all played fantastically and have now booked themselves a place in the final against Cardiff. Lexi Walsh scored six goals in the match securing her name in the North Wales Football history books. Abbie Tonks was also on the score sheet for Kinmel Bay. The date and venue for the final is yet to be confirmed.
‘’Now we are in the final we would like to do the same for the girls again. I believe the preparation and funding we received was key to them winning the semi-final, and would appreciate any help towards funding the Final.’’
