Guys have been doing this for years, especially in the mid 80-90’s where Porsche had some of the most hideous steering wheels out there. Usually it is pretty simple, remove the old wheel, in- stall a wheel with a similar spline count for the steering shaft and you are done. The 964 from 1989 (c4 only) to 1994 is one of the exceptions that does not allow
a “racing” steering wheel a simple bolt on. But for a street car, I tend to like the factory looking wheels. So for Valerie’s 964, I decided I wanted to install a three spoke steering wheel out of a Boxster S, complete with airbag. It would still have a factory look, but with a much better look and feel than the original 4 spoke wheel.
