1. Use a sealant on your car’s paint
A sealant or polymer wax is the best to use for winter conditions. Unlike carnauba and other paste wax products, a paint sealant will better shield your car’s nish from all the harsh contaminants winter can throws at it. One coat of a high quality paint sealant will be enough to provide protection for the whole winter season.
2. Keep your car clean
A good way to keep your car from getting damaged from all the weather and contaminates is to wash it often. This helps keep the salt and debris from building up on your car. Use a high pressure car wash to remove road lm from the wheels, tires, fender wells and nish of your car.
Don’t wash your car when the temperature is below freezing. If you do you must put in a garage that is above freezing right after you wash it. Leaving a wet car out in the weather below freezing can seal your doors closed and you can easily damage a convertible top.
3. Take care of your leather interior
Most people forget about their interior in the winter. During these cold months, the dry air pulls moisture from your leather. It is important to use a good leather conditioner like Lexol to help keep your leather moist and soft. Leather conditioners can only work properly if they are applied to the leather when the temperature is 50 degrees or above. So apply the conditioner on in the garage where the temperature is warmer.
