o start, the most important part of this story are two words... Highway 123.
As the leaves start changing and the mornings become brisk, it is again that time of the year to roll south to Eureka Springs, for the most epic driving that can be had outside of the Rockies and even Southern California.
Roads that are untarnished by harsh winters and months of salt treatments. Two lane roads that you would have thought were designed by the racing gods. Perfect camber, long sight lines, switchbacks and sweepers.
In its 12th year, PCA-Palooza is the must attend Porsche event for the Midwest. It is held in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, the 2nd weekend of November, with all events based at the Best Western Inn of
the Ozarks convention center.
Sure, we’ve all been to great events as members of the PCA, but the planning and coordination by the White River, Cimarron, and Ozark Regions are really meant to impress.
This year’s event added Thursday just to accommodate all the participants and drives. Scheduled events for the weekend certainly appeal to all driving levels and interests. Tech sessions and bingo are very popular ways to wind down after great mornings of group drives and the parade through old downtown.
As this was my driving crews’ third time down, with one new member that had only heard our tales, our mission for the weekend was to put as many miles possible on our recently track scrubbed tires.
