a light lunch, and warm sunshine were adding up to make it a spectacular day.
The run back up the coast to Mon- terey was just as spectacular. This time, we were able to focus a little more on the driving and a little less on the scen- ery. Ric and I picked up the pace. Long swooping corners followed by crests and valleys came upon us, with our Boxster loving every minute of it. At one point, I saw a yellow diamond caution sign. It had the classic squiggle arrow on it, but below it said, “next 76 miles”! I think I found a piece of heaven.
Exhausted from our drive, we each headed back to our respective hotels to freshen up. There were no particu- lar plans for the evening, so Chad and I decided to go back down to Carmel for dinner. A few texts later and we all end- ed up in Carmel for dinner. I’m glad we
did. The more the merrier. A long day of driving, followed by good food, good wine, good company, and a walk down to the beach to watch the sun set made it a perfect day.
Sunday and the flight home came all to soon. I had an awesome bro-weekend at a spectacular event, and got to take some of my best friends with me. We drove beautiful cars and saw beautiful coun- tryside. I cannot think of one thing to make it better.
Well, maybe one thing, Deborah. The key to this adventure began with an idea. One I will have to still make good on. Deborah I promise to take you to the Pa- cific Coast Highway and drive along the ocean country side, with the wind in our hair, the sun on our skin, and your hand in mind.
- Your loving husband, Stan
