Family of the Year Award, sponsored by Porsche AG, was presented to The Troester Family, of the Intermountain Region. The PCA Zone Rep Award, given to a PCA mem- ber for their service to the club, was present- ed to Tom Brown of the San Diego Region. The Ferry Porsche Trophy for Region of the Year was presented to the Arizona Region.
The Concours banquet includes one of my favorite traditions: Stand Up, Sit Down. It begins by those who are attending their rst Parade stand up and be recognized. Then everyone else stands with them. We count from one, and each person sits down as the number of Parades they have attended is called. This year, the last person standing was Burt Propp of the Golden Gate Region. He has attended 57 Parades (remember, there have only been 62!). I tell you this to impress upon you the magic that is Parade. Second-generation PCA members have been attending Parade since they were infants – some of them are now in their thirties.
Wednesday was Day 2 of Autocross. Back at the hotel, Hagerty presented two seminars: a technical inspection of a 1987 Porsche 911 and a Valuation Seminar. In addition, Porsche presented The Anatomy of a Road- ster, a seminar given by Boxster designer Grant Larson, who drew sketches of Porsche cars as he spoke.
Wednesday concluded with the Mobil1 Rally Banquet, where the TSD Rally win- ners were announced. The Rally Banquet in- cludes the presentation of two other national awards: Best Newsletter and Best Website. I am pleased to announce that Kansas City Region’s very own Stan Thorne and Debra Thorne received rst place trophies for the KCR website and Der Sportwagen in Class IV. Congratulations on these well-deserved honors! Der Sportwagen was also a nalist for Best Newsletter Cover.
