                                            MARIANA'S QUARANTINE

                                                 Valeria Santa Serpa

Once upon a time, in a country at the beginning of

the year, a virus called COVID-19 arrived there. It
was very contagious and dangerous. For this reason,

the president decided that the country should go
into quarantine, it means, nobody could leave
home, even work, including school, which made

                            Mariana very sad.

She was a ten-year-old girl, who was studying in fifth
grade. When her parents gave her the news that she
could not go back to school for a while and that she
could not play with her friends or go out to eat at

her favorite restaurant, that made her very sad.

Mariana resigned herself and began to live her new
reality, study virtually, check platforms and write
passwords. Fortunately, she shared and played more

often with her parents, however as her birthday
approached she became sad, at the thought of not

being able to share that special day with all of her
friends and family. On the other side, during the first
months of the year, they were preparing the prom

that would be held at the end of the year, but
considering the new situation, who knows if they
would be able to celebrate it.
