C Rose: For starters, I am planning a
year ago. I worked with a
publisher that is small and local, a homework, knowing the market
hybrid publisher. We were all very
committed to getting the book out
in 2019.
I would meet with the editorial
team and review the calendar
periodically to see that we could
still meet our timeline. The
physical book came out the end of
the year, and the e-book went up
on Amazon on December 16, 2019.
EP: Is there some advice you
would like to share with aspiring
authors—and does it relate to your
coaching recommendations?
C Rose: I want new authors to
realize all the potential out there
today that there never was before.
I would also tell them to get busy
and write their book. They can go
through the traditional route and
get an agent to find a publisher, or you like to do outdoors?
consider hybrid publishers—you
don’t have to have a garage full of
books when there are print on
demand options available.
Also, I’d tell them that Social
Media is very important. I’ve
gotten referrals that way for my
business and for the book. I want
to remind authors to promote
their work on social media and get
outside help with it if you need to. daughters (now grown) and with

interest and it’s a great way to get lattes. Starbucks is my secret vice.

much time people spend on their
smart phones on any given day?

for both writing and business
development. Like doing your

EP: Other than writing a best-
seller, what makes you smile?
C Rose: I am a very happy person
and I smile a lot. I am positive and to Life Beyond #Me Too for select
thankful for all I have in my life. In audiences--such as educators,
fact, I end each day with a list of 5 businesses and work teams of all sizes,
things I am grateful for that I post and faith communities. No firm contract
on Facebook. Happiness is also a
choice and I chose to be “up” all
the time.
EP: You live in a stunning wooded
part of Washington State. What do
C Rose: Oh, I love to go for walks
and hikes, and the trails in this
area offer some amazing vistas. I
also love to watch the ducks and
eagles out on the lake in my
backyard. The natural resources of
the Pacific Northwest are just
amazing! I enjoy friends’ boats and
visiting Washington wineries. I
love spending time with my
friends. I love going out for decaf
(chuckles) I like to explore new
things, find joy in life.
EP: That reminds me. It’s a new
year and a new decade. What are
some of your goals for 2020?
book tour. Get out there and speak to
people, help them understand they can
make new choices and be a part of
transformations. Together we can
achieve a safer world—and if that means
book sales, I’m good with that too! Once
I pay back my investment in the book 50
percent of my profits will go to
nonprofits helping create a safer world
for women and girls. And before that,
on January 8, we have a launch on
Amazon.com and $1 from each book
purchased from Amazon on that day
will go to actress Mariska Hargitay’s The
Joyful Heart Foundation, to help end the
backlog of untested rape kits. I am also
considering writing follow-up volumes
yet, though. I need a little time to catch
my breath. I also hope to serve more
clients in 2020 with my new Fearless
Organization Psychological Safety
Coach partnership. Companies that
foster psychological safety in teams
have greater success with innovation
and with team effectiveness. I’m focused
in 2020 on growth, on helping leaders
develop themselves, their teams, and
their companies. This year will be a full
one with travel, reaching out to people,
coaching and speaking.
