1. Soak the accurately weighed amount of Na CMC in 10 mL of purified
water.
2. Dissolve lidocaine HCl in 5 mL purified water.
3. Add menthol and methyl paraben to the lidocaine HCl solution and mix
well
4. Add glycerin and propylene glycol to the solution
5. Add the soaked carboxy methyl cellulose dispersion (prepared in step 1) to
the solution.
6. Complete the volume to 25 mL with purified water.
7. Transfer to wide mouthed screw capped jar and fix the label.
