Each winter, a group puts out Christmas trees onto the ice
as far out as the eye can see. I was told by locals the trees
are placed there to safely guide ice fishermen back to shore
in case of a storm.
Mitchell’s Bay is a cute village on the eastern shore of Lake
St. Clair. There is a nice marina with camping. A short walk
into town from the marina are a couple nice restaurants and a
