specialty and market place
for cost. There are different
price points of clear vinyl on
the market. If you need to have your windows replaced
with a simple repair or you are in the market to purchase
a new canvas enclosure for your boat, ask the company
doing the work, what are your options. The labor to build
enclosure panels or doing simple repairs is basically the
same no matter what type of clear vinyl you put into your
project, the only difference is the type of “QUALITY” of
windows you are going to pay for. Sometimes paying an
extra $50.00-$75.00 per window for a better quality product
is going to pay for itself in the long run on the life expec-
tancy of your canvas enclosure.
UV is the biggest killer of your vinyl windows. Better
grades of vinyl windows will hold up better to the UV than
others. Another big killer for your windows is sunscreen.
Do not get sunscreen on your windows as it will affect the
coating on the windows and will damage them.
When not using your windows for your enclosure, we rec-
ommend laying them flat. If you must roll them, purchase
beach towels or sheets and interlay them between your
panels while you roll them. These methods will help the life
of your windows and protect
them from scratches.
