LOCATION AND AMENITIES
We have lots of hosts living across the UK. It may be that you have chosen a host close to your school or you many have decided that you want to be in a big city. Either way we believe that the
homes of our host families offer, or will be within a short drive, of a good mix of shopping facilities including banks and supermarkets coupled with places of interest to visit.
ARRIVING AT THE HOSTS HOME
You will either arrive at your host’s home by taxi or they will have collected you from school.
However you may have already been to meet your host when you first arrived in the UK.
You may feel a little bit nervous when you first arrive – Don’t worry, this it is quite natural, lots of people feel anxious in situations like this.
We have a wide range of small to medium sized rooms, occasionally the room may have an en-suite bathroom however most students will share the bathroom with other students or the family members. All rooms are comfortable and well equipped so you should have everything you need for your stay. Please try to keep your room as tidy as possible as you would at school.
Your host will try to make you feel as comfortable as possible. They will want to introduce you to other members of their family (if you have not had the opportunity to meet everyone before your first visit) show you around their home, any pets they may have, and of course most importantly of all will be to show you your room!
Your host may then sit down with you, perhaps with a drink and a snack, and talk over a typical family day. They may discuss meal times, when you can use the internet or watch television etc and will talk over some of the house rules. Please don’t be afraid to ask questions at this time.
