THE GIRL AND THE MA GI C
THE GIRL AND THE MAGIC
By: Sara Hoyos
Once upon a time, there was a girl whose name was Indy but they called her curly
hair because she had curly hair, she was also dark-skinned, black hair and light
eyes, she was very kind, humble, friendly, supportive and very tolerant but she got
angry easily.
Her parents were divorced, therefore she lived with her mother, who was called
Angie, they seemed to be a peaceful and calm family but they were not, since Ang-
ie physically and psychologically abused Indy for whatever she did and forced her
not to say anything to anyone.
No one had noticed since Angie knew how to hide it well, for example, once Indy
came home 15 minutes late since she was in the library and the mother beat her,
scold her, punished her and left her without eating for a whole day, her father
always pampered her and never did all those horrible things that her mother did,
but the father never suspected what her mother did it to Indy.
One day the mother hit her so hard that she left her eye black and split her lip,
Indy begged her fairy godmother (since she believed in this) that her father real-
ized what her mother was doing to her because she did not want to suffer in that
hell. That weekend he had to pick up the girl but the mother did not let that hap-
pen because she was afraid, maybe the father could call the police and if he could
enter the property and they saw indy pale, kneeling, with injuries and bruises, the
father denounced the mother, but unfortunately nothing could be done since they
said that there was no proof, made Angie was more cruel to indy than she was
before since she said that everything had been her daughter’s fault.
Indy always begged her fairy godmother to help her, to get her out of hell, until
that one day her father arrived with a large number of policemen at Angie’s house,
Angie hit Indy speculating that she was to blame for her father being there, she
said that Indy had told her father everything but It was not like that, the reality was
that a lot of evidence and testimonies were collected against Angie, her neighbors
had assured that on repeated occasions they had heard Indy yelling and her moth-
er insulting her and different evidence, her father arrived to take Indy with him,
They took Angie to a trial for child abuse, made her thanked her fairy godmother
and repeated 3 times: Magic exists
Finally , what she wanted was fulfilled and her father and Indy lived happily ever
after or at least they did not suffer more from this issue.
