A. LEARNING ACTIVITY OBJECTIVES
After studying this module, you will gain knowledge about giving and asking

for official and unofficial invitation text information regarding activities at

school or at home. Then, you will get the meaning of the text of the

invitation, and it is hoped that you will be able to compose an official verbal

and written invitation text related to activities at school and at home.

B. MATERIAL

Definition Invitation Letter

Invitation is an invitation is a request, a solicitation, or an attempt to get

another person to join you at a specific event. According to the Oxford

Learner's Dictionary defines Invitation as follows “a spoken or written request

to somebody to do something or to go somewhere”. So, invitation is a request

in the form of speech or writing addressed to someone to do something or go

somewhere.

Some examples of events that usually use invitations are birthday parties,

weddings, meetings, and others. And there are two types of invitation letters,

namely formal invitation letters and informal (personal) invitation letters.
