Story writing competition "The Bear book"

We have received 32 stories in Hindi, Gujarati and English from different regions
of the world. Out of all the 32 stories received, the best story award was given to © Pratik Desai © Shalu Mesaria
the story written by Ms. Sakshi Kailash Wagh from Buldhana District,
Maharashtra.

rd An activity booklet on sloth bears is prepared in English and Gujarati. This
3 : Dipti Panchal includes various activities related to the bears for the school kids. We

distributed around 2000 booklets to the kids in various schools located near

© Pratik Desai the periphery of the forest. Volunteers and the project team participated in the
distribution of the activity booklets. Students were made to color the bears and
sketch the bears by joining the dots. An attempt was made to make them love
"Bears of India" bears and educate them about the presence of bears in their locality.

All these talks were made live on
YouTube and are available on
our YouTube channel. This live
lecture series was organized as a
part of the celebration of
International Happy Bears Day

on May 10, 2020, in
collaboration with EAZA Bear
TAG and the IUCN Bear
Specialist Group. More than
4500 viewers from 14 different
countries have viewed this
programme live, which indicates
its grand success.
