General Accessories
You may find out, that playing over time, you’ll soon learn new and
different styles and even might need to buy an additional or different
stye of guitar and that might mean you may need to buy further
equipment, books and accessories as your progression develops!!

But to start off with it’s ideal to have the following items from the
start. (Items in bold are essential.)
(Prices are approximate range: UK - £)
Guitar and case (around £30-£70)
Shoulder strap (around £15)
Guitar stand (around £15-£30)
Music book stand (around £10- 15)
Guitar tuner (around £25 or less)
Plectrums (a.k.a: picks) (around 25p +)
Spare strings (around £6- £20+)
Wiping cloth (old clean t-towel will do)
There are many other accessories that you
can purchase, such as metronomes, music
books, capo, glass/ plastic slides, sound
pedals (depending on the type of guitar you
have. ie: electric, or electric acoustic), which
are useful tools; in which case, you will
probably purchase at a later date or during
tuition if you’re feeling adventurous.
If you have any of all of these, in the above
list then all the better. You can find the
accessories listed here at most music shops
and the prices can vary, so it pays to look
around.
Note: Start with your local music shops first,
so you can get professional advice, they
should let you, pick up and practice on
different guitars etc instore, before
purchasing.
