Reflection

Reflection is a process where students describe their

learning, how it changed, and how it might relate to
                                  future learning experiences

               Archaeological Dig

The fun filled activity we did in Term I, was the “Archaeological Dig”. In this activity, we had to

become an archaeologist and find stuff, draw them on paper and even write a report, just like
the real archaeologist does. We were given tools, an area where the teachers had already kept
the things or artifacts that we were going to dig, find and separate groups so we could work

together and finish the activity on time.

We were separated into three different groups, with six to seven members each. Each member

of the group had their own work/task to do. Such as; the digger, the illustrator, the reporter, and
the cleaner. The digger basically had to dig out the artifact from the area of land we were given.

The illustrator had to draw the things the digger had found out while digging. The reporter had

to write about the artifact on a piece of paper, like where it was found, what it was, etc. And the
last cleaner had to clean the artifact in the nearby water source we were given to clean the things
we found. Also, there were two diggers and they could swap their job with other members
because they had to dig three layers of soil in the ground and it is very tiring for a few people
               to do it.

We were assigned to bring some clothes to wear for the dig so
that our uniforms wouldn’t be dirty. We had to bring: a t-shirt,
pair of shorts, slippers, and one measuring tape from each

group. After the 2-hour dig, it was finally completed and

we all were tired because of the constant work we all did.
Finally, we handed the tools we used for the
dig, such as a shovel, a pickaxe, brushes,
measuring tape, and towel to our teachers.

After all, it was an exciting, fun and fruitful

activity that our whole class including
teachers and students enjoyed. It was a new
experience for everyone and there was so
much to learn. It is the best way to learn with fun
and also a great way to enhance students’ teamwork
skills. Above all, I am sure all my friends enjoyed it
               as much as I did.
