SPECIAL PROJECTS Helping Orphanges Throughout China LWB has been helping orphanages with the essential daily supplies they need for children’s health and safety since 2003. This year we once again provided items such as winter coats, new cribs, summer cloth- ing, wheelchairs, incubators, and new toys to help orphaned children. Due to the changing population of children in Chinese orphanages, LWB continued our commitment to providing physical therapy ed- ucation. In partnership with the Hong Kong Rehabilitation Society, we conducted special- ized trainings for orphanages in Gansu and Guangdong provinces. In addition we contin- ued our nanny and doctor assistance programs with orphanages in Gansu, Anhui, and Guang- dong. One of our favorite special projects in 2013 was providing new bicycles to all of the older chil- dren at the rural Weng’an orphanage in Guizhou. Each child got to choose their own bike to help them get more easily to school each day, and the kids were overjoyed! Special projects were done for 40 orphanages across 16 provinces. 11 LWB 2013 ANNUAL REPORT
