General Surgery Program General Surgery Program General Surgery Program Through our General Surgery program, children who are in pain are able to feel good again. This is often a long process like it has been for Rhys (right) and Herakles (below). These beautiful boys were both born with anal atresia but are FINALLY FINISHED WITH THEIR SURGERIES!! We are so happy for Rhys and Herakles. Even though they don’t look very happy in these photos they will soon! Heart Surgery Program Heart Surgery Program Heart Surgery Program Another opportunity a child in our Heart Surgery program enjoys after sur- gery is more energy for play! Of course, looking at little Miss Grumpy Pants Ivy (left) you certainly cannot tell she is happy to have a healed heart! That’s ok Ivy, you are still recovering from a ma- jor surgery so we will give you a break. But we want some smiles the next time we check in! Deal?? Check out this little sweet potato who is new to the Heart Surgery program! This is Laurie and doesn’t she have a precious smile (are you taking notes on this Ivy??). Laurie was born with a pretty serious heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot (ToF). She is currently receiving pre- operative care in our Heartbridge Healing Home while she waits for her heart surgery to be fully funded. Once she has her surgery she will have more energy to eat and won’t need that icky feeding tube any longer...yay! Then it will be back to Heartbridge until she is strong enough for foster care. If you would like to be part of the ‘Heal Laurie’s Heart’ Team please go to our website for sponsorship information.
