Message from the Chief
Greetings,
2019 served as my first year serving in the role of the Chief of
Police for the City of Elk Grove. As many have heard me say but is
truer more today than ever before; I am deeply honored to serve in
the city that I call home, the city my wife and I are raising our three
children in, and a city I am wholly committed to. I would be remiss if
I did not highlight the incredible leadership provided by my mentor
and whose shoes I have had the opportunity to attempt to fill, Chief
Bryan Noblett. Chief Noblett was successful in landing into
retirement and did so with grace and professionalism. I am deeply
indebted to him for the mentoring which prepared me for my
current role.
In calendar year 2019, we made great strides in the addition of staff,
the integration of technology, and the adoption of a focused
approach toward mitigating crime and quality of life issues through
Intelligence Led Policing (ILP).
With the support of our City Council and City Manager we hired 27 police department personnel including 19
officers. Additionally, we added or allocated existing personnel to the following key positions:
• Addition of Assistant Chief of Police to our organization
• Addition of a Public Information Officer
• Addition of a Real Time Information Center Supervisor
We additionally introduced and are in the infancy stages of developing technology approaches including the Real
Time Information Center (RTIC) and our Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS).
As we continue to grow, we are focused to grow with a plan. We are clearly focused on reducing crime and
addressing quality of life issues, while doing so with a focus on professionalism. Finally, we thank our community
for their continual support and for partnering with us to make a difference within this wonderful city.
Sincerely,
Timothy Albright – Chief of Police
