EGPD has 65 patrol officers and 11
Community Service Officers assigned to
patrol each of our five city beats. We
have four shifts which split the week to
work and work either:
Sunday - Wednesday or
Wednesday - Saturday

The patrol shifts are:
Days (Charles Watch & David Watch)
Cover (Edward Watch & Frank Watch)
Swings (George Watch & Henry Watch)
Graveyard (Adam Watch & Boy Watch)

Fun Fact:
The names of each of the above shifts are derived
from the phonetic alphabet. Each officer uses
their shift name and beat number to create their
call sign. For example: if you work Sunday –
Wednesday swing shift and are assigned beat 2,
your call sign would be George-2 or G-2.
*Priority 1 Calls are an in-progress felony, in-progress crime against person,
or an incident where there is a high risk for harm against a person.
