Activities for public classes with parents/carers
1. You demonstrate the actions with your big teddy. Tap baby's tummy to pulse for first line. Blow on baby's head during crotchet rests (‘blow’) for second line. Tickle fingers down baby's back for third line. Tap baby's tummy to pulse for last line and give them a cuddle and a kiss on 'Mmm. Delicious!' When the adults know the actions, put the teddy down so he/she can “watch” and join in with your melodic instrument.
Activities for ELCs and pre-schools
Same as for toddlers
        1. The children imagine that they are holding a Christmas pudding in their hands. Have a smell, have a cheeky taste, then rub tummies and say "yum!". Tap tummies to the pulse for the first line. Hold pudding in hands and blow on it during crotchet rests in the second line (‘blow’). Twinkle fingers in the air, moving them from higher to lower during third line. Eating actions with alternate hands to pulse for last line. Rub tummies and make silly faces as you say 'Mmm. Delicious!' Practise saying 'Mmm. Delicious!' with the children several times so when you repeat the song they can join in with that part.
2. When the children know the actions well, join in with your melodic instrument. The song is simple and so older toddlers will be able to join in with some of the words.
Activities 1 & 2 are the same as for toddlers except you encourage the children to join in with all of the singing after they have heard it once or twice.
3. Accompany a volunteer with your melodic instrument as they stand and perform the song solo for the group.
4. Talk with the children about Christmas and ask what other foods we eat at Christmas time.
NB: remember that not everyone celebrates Christmas, so make sure your language is inclusive
