Bernie Bee
Bernie Bee, Bernie Bee,
Say when will your wedding be. If it be tomorrow day,
Raise your wings and fly away. Bzzzz!
1. The group is sitting in a circle. You shake the bee toy up and down to the pulse. At the end of the rhyme, ‘fly’ the bee toy (making a ‘bzzzz’ sound as you do so), to the child next to you. Then, that child shakes the bee toy up and down whilst you say the rhyme and clap the pulse. Repeat until each child has had a turn of shaking the bee toy.
1. Reveal the bee toy. Ask the children to pick up imaginary bees and place them on their shoulders. You tap the bee toy to the pulse on your shoulder as you say the rhyme. The children do the same with their imaginary bees. At the end of the rhyme 'fly' the bee to another part of the body (e.g. head) and the children do the same with their imaginary bees. Make a ‘bzzzz’ noise as you move the bee. Repeat the rhyme several times, using a different body part each time.
2. You demonstrate the rhyme twice as above, choosing a different body part each time. The bee toy is then given to a child who chooses where on their body to tap it to the pulse. The other children copy with their imaginary bees. At the end of the rhyme the chosen child 'flies' the bee to the child next to them who chooses another body part. Repeat until everyone has had a turn.
Activities 1 & 2 are the same as for toddlers.
3. The children are standing in a circle with the palm of one hand out and facing up. You walk around the inside of the circle, tapping each child's hand to the pulse with the bee toy. The last child who is tapped at the end of the rhyme is Bernie Bee and he/she 'flies' the bee toy around the circle until they are back in their spot. The rest of the children make a ‘bzzzz’ sound and flap their bee wings on the spot.

I Wiggle
I wiggle my fingers
I wiggle my toes,
I wiggle my shoulders,
I wiggle my nose.
(loudly) When no more wiggles, Are left in me,
(quietly) Then I'm as still,
As still as can be.
Same as for pre-schoolers activity one
