Body Awareness
To observe the choreography shown by the teacher and recreate it with own body
Control
To develop control through jumping and running on tippy toes
Coordination
To improve coordination by joining in with the complex choreography (especially roly poly)
Motor Skills
To improve gross motor skills including tapping and twisting and to practise locomotor skills through traveling around the room in several different ways including jumping, waddling, crawling, galloping and running on tippy toes
Musicality
To dance in time with the music
Spatial Awareness
To negotiate the space while moving around the room like farm animals by adjusting speed and direction to avoid obstacles (including other children)
Strength and Fitness
To improve cardiovascular fitness through performing a high energy dance and to develop strength in legs by jumping and running on tippy toes
7. Action song: ‘I Had a Little Horsey’ (tune of ‘Tiny Tim’, traditional) adapted from Intellidancing
I had a little horsey who was missing his shoe. I looked and I looked but what could I do?
I looked up high and I looked down low,
But horsey kept galloping just like so.
Clip clop, clip clop, clip clop, clip clop. (spoken) Hold on ‘cause then I said whoa!
