Five little speckled frogs, (standing and holding up five fingers) Sat on a speckled log, (crouching like a frog)
Eating some most delicious bugs. (eating action)
Yum, yum! (rub tummy twice, once for each ‘yum’)
One jumped into the pool, (jump like a frog)
Where it was nice and cool, (rub arms as though cold)
Then there were four green speckled frogs. (standing again and hold up four fingers)
Glub, glub! (bounce twice, once for each ‘glub’)
Repeat for four, three, two and one speckled frogs. Pause after each ‘then there were...’ to allow the children to tell you the number before continuing. Make sure to encourage the children to join in with the singing and the actions. Many of the children will have heard this song before so may join in naturally.

Opening lines: “Yasmin and her family went on a very long train journey to visit Aunty Sue. On the way, they looked out the window and saw two swans and two wolves.”

NB: We are only giving three actions this week as it’s difficult for pre-schoolers to get into groups of three. You and another adult should help them to do this.
One lonely soldier = stand up straight and tall in your own space
Two peas in a pod = find a friend and curl up next to each other on the floor Three blind mice = hold hands in groups of three and say “Squeak, squeak, squeak” *Running time approx. 3 mins.
