Hello, my name is Joe... (cont. as in previous verse until) ... “Are you busy Joe?” I said, “YES!!!!!!!.”
12. UNACCOMPANIEDSINGING*:‘PlayandPlay’(traditional)
Demonstrate this song several times by playing the pulse on a percussion instrument as you sing. Make sure there is a reasonable pause in between each time you sing the song so the children can see that you play when you sing and you stop when the song is finished. Try keeping still but pulling a silly face during the pauses to keep the children’s attention. Sing and repeat ‘Time to hand out the instruments, the instruments, the instruments, time to hand out the instruments at Child’s Name’s birthday party’ to the tune of ‘Here We Go ‘Round the Mulberry Bush’ as you hand out the instruments. The children play their instruments to the pulse as you sing:
Play and play and play together. Play and play and play and stop.
Repeat several times. Play one or two verses quietly because "mum and dad are asleep" and another one or two loudly because "we need to wake them up!" Play slow and fast verses.
13. MUSICALSTATUES*:‘ShakeitOff’performedbyTaylorSwift
Ask the children if they know the game Musical Statues. Tell them that they’re going to play a game a little bit like Musical Statues and that if they can beat you to win, you will give them all a Haribo treat. Tell them they are going to be a marching band. The group march around the room in the same direction and play instruments to the pulse. When the music stops, everyone must freeze and be very quiet. Don’t eliminate anyone or make them out. Simply tell the children you will be watching to see if they can be really still and quiet when you stop the music and that if they are really good at the game you will give everyone a Haribo treat before you go home.
14. ACCOMPANIEDSINGING:‘IfYou’reHappyandYouKnowIt’(traditional)
Congratulate the children on beating you in Musical Statues and winning their Haribo treats. “Let’s celebrate by singing ‘If You’re Happy and You Know It’.” The children will probably know the song well so play along on your melodic instrument from the beginning. Ask volunteers to suggest new verses.

15. PASSTHEPARCEL:‘IFeelGood’performedbyJamesBrown(ifrequested)
Make it clear to the children before you play the game that “everybody gets a turn.” Play the track and the children pass the parcel around in a circle. When you pause the music, the child holding the parcel opens a layer and keeps the gift inside. Use a remote control to pause the music so you can help the younger children pass the parcel and open it when it is their turn. The children can eat their treat, put it in their pocket or give it to an adult to mind so that it does not distract them from the rest of the party.
NB: Make sure to check the party entertainer guidelines for instructions on making the parcel and for maximum spending amounts.
19. UNACCOMPANIEDSINGING*:‘GrandOldDuke’(traditional)
“It’s time to play with the parachute again.” Make sure everyone is in a circle and then hand out the parachute so that everyone is holding the edges. Sing the song, moving the parachute from side to side to the pulse and then up and down according to the lyrics. Next, ask an adult (your assistant or a parent at the party) to hold the opposite end of the parachute so you can invite all the children to hide under the parachute and sing the song again using the same parachute movements.
