1. "Let's say a funny rhyme that will turn us all into bananas!" This activity will only work if you use loads of energy! Sing 'stand up'. Gradually lift straight arms out to the side until fingertips are touching above your head and you are the shape of a banana. See the video for the actions. Repeat one or two more times.
Sing 'Let's Make a Circle' and 'sit down' to get the children ready for the next activity. If younger toddlers find 'Bananas of the World' too tricky you can do 'Uncle John' or another action or movement song instead.
