In July 2000, then DTK President, Wolfgang Ransleben and the Federal Breed Warden, Hans Wördemann, made the long trip to up- state New York, USA, where the very first NATC Zuchtschau and Gun Shyness Test was held. For most NATC members this was the first time they had their Teckel judged against the FCI standard and Mr. Wördemann used this oportunity to turn the Zuchtschau into a seminar to ensure everybody understood the purpose of every aspect of the standard. Most NATC members used their Teckel for hunting and performance events and already knew that function dictates form but the lectures were invaluable.
During this first NATC event, NATC breed war- dens were appointed and intensively trained to enable breeding under DTK rules and regu- lations.
In the following years the NATC invited dif- ferent judges from the DTK and other WUT member countries to hold seminars, to judge the various hunting tests as presiding judges alongside the NATC judges, and to
