JUDGING
at the World Winner Show of the World Union Teckel on October th 1 at Malpensafiere – Busto Arsizio – Varese, arranged by Amici Bassotto Club, and at the Insubria Winner Show on October th 1 in the same place, arranged by Gruppo Cinofilo Varesino

Already in September of 2015, I received an e-mail from Dr Cesare Calcinati, the former President of the Italian Dachshund Club – Ami- ci Bassotto Club (ABC) with the invitation to judge at the World Win- ner Show of the World Union Teckel (WUT WS) in Milano. Of course, I immediately accepted. My wife wanted to accompany me on this trip as she did on many other trips. Having spent only one night in our life at the Great Lake (Lago Maggiore), we decided to spend some holidays there before the shows. We soon found a suitable va- cation home, and we spent two very nice holiday weeks in Germi- gnaga at the Lago Maggiore. Before our vacation, I had found out that I was also supposed to judge the Teckel during the second day of the exhibition at the Insubria Winner Show.
During our vacation we had frequent and very pleasant Internet contact to Mrs Moira Stoc- co (everyone called her Mrs Moira), who in- formed us that we would lodge at the Golf-Ho- tel “Le Robinie” in Solbiate Olona near the exhibition center. She also gave us the pro- gram for the accompanying events and I learned that I had to judge 45 long-haired Kaninchen and Miniature Teckel at the WUT WS and 73 wire-haired Teckel of all sizes at the Insubria Winner Show.
Another German judge, Mr Andreas Tornau from Bad Salzuflen, was invited for the WUT WS and for a specialty show, managed by the ABC, which took place parallel to the Insubria Winner Show.
The evening before the show we met the other judges and Mrs Moira in the lobby of our golf hotel. Mrs Moira accompanied us to the neighbouring restaurant – where we had a tasty dinner which lasted until almost 11 pm.
The next morning the bus with all the judg- es and the support sta left early at 8.45 a.m. to the exhibition hall, only five minutes away. During the judges’ conference, which took
