220 TIMBER BOARD SARKING

• Boards: Free from decay, insect attack (except ambrosia beetle damage) and
wane.
- Wood species: Contractor's choice.
- Quality: Blue stain, fissures, knot holes and loose or unsound knots not permitted
on exposed face (underside) of boards.
- Surface finish: Sawn.
- Edge profile: Tongued and grooved.
- Finished face width (exposed width after fixing): site specific.
- Finished thickness: site specific.
- Moisture content at time of fixing: Not more than 19%.
• Treatment: site specific.
- Standard: To NBS section Z12 and Wood Protection Association Commodity
Specification C8 or FR4.

• Fixing: 65 mm x 3.35 mm galvanized annular ringed shank nails, two per board to
each rafter.
