D4.28 Staircase balustrade
Where existing balustrade systems are no longer
in keeping with the restaurant image, new
structural glass systems should be utilised as a
new alternative. The system should comprise
of a solid, stainless steel bottom channel
between 100-150mm high, structural glass
balustrade panels and capped with a stainless
steel handrail. Handrails against walls should
be provided by continuous stainless steel tube
on spigot fixings and linked into balustrade as
appropriate.
The glass system should be designed and
installed by a specialist sub contractor following
site survey and production of fabrication
drawings. All works to be in accordance with
Building Regulation / Warrant requirements.
