Activity 2. Practice Saying the English Vowel
Vowel is a sound in spoken language. Or a speech sound made by the vocal folds
(commonly called vocal cords). It is also a type of letter in the alphabet. Vowel is
created by the relatively free passage of breath.
This speech sound made with open mouth and the tongue positioned inside or in the
middle of the mouth, not touching the lips, or teeth.
Letter of vowel are : A, I, U ,E, O and sometimes Y. the letter Y can be vowel in the
words such as ‘cry’, ‘sky’, ‘fly’, or ‘why’ or it can be consonants in the words of ‘
‘yellow’, ‘yacht’, ‘yam’, or ‘yesterday’
