The color of lipstick is a linguistic expression that has a certain relationship with the content of the work. It suggests
that the contents of the work are slightly different depending on the color of the lips. It tells us that the color of lips as a
verbal expression can be determined by social situations and conditions along with psychological factors. Each color has
its own symbolism, and it expresses the state of consciousness and emotion through the combination with the shape.
This is the part that tells the function as a body language that only women can have. From the artist's point of view,
he expresses his inner self through his lips. The lips of a woman who wears lipstick are both a pictorial material and a
medium that conveys her own feelings. In this way, the reason why he chose lips as a material is vaguely revealed. It
means to entrust the role of a window to reveal one's inner self, not limited to only beautiful images and erotic images.
From this point of view, the lips expand in a direction different from the general perception that a woman can have as a
part of a woman's body. In fact, he secretly exposes his own artistic desires through the image of lips. This includes not
only personal matters, but also one's own position, understanding and interpretation of reality. Visual images such as
drawings, including various symbols, signs, characters, and images appearing in the background surrounding the image
of the lips, are none other than the message he wants to convey. In addition to this, various expressive techniques such
as drawing, erasing, scratching, pasting, and peeling act as a factor to enrich the visual image while helping the content.
At the same time, it suggests a chaotic reality, an inner situation such as personal conflicts, including many of the world's
problems. Depending on the work, personal feelings are revealed through current portraits or text images called graffiti.
In some cases, the letters are written backwards or an image like a password that cannot be recognized is written, which
tells us that it is his own formative space and a linguistic statement to the world. Looking back, it can be seen that the
background of the painting transcends the realistic space of the wall, acting like a kind of graffiti board allowed only for
himself. The wall of the street where graffiti exists can be said to be a social face. It can be a way to liberate the mind and
emotions, revealing various opinions and intentions such as reactions to culture and art, as well as political and social
issues as well as realistic problems experienced by unspecified individuals. By observing
the wall as a space where graffiti is made, he easily solves the problem of incorporating
content into his work. The combination of opposing images that contrasts the background
of the enlarged lips and the corresponding complex images is not inferior to individual
formal beauty.
