Tirupati – Katpadi section is an important group “B” route. Number of Superfast
express/passenger long distance trains connecting Bengaluru city, Thiruvanantapuram,
Kanyakumari etc.are running on this section. At present maximum permissible speed of
this section is 100 Kmph. Proposal for increasing of sectional speed to 110 Kmph was
submitted to Hqrs.
